First Paper Published: Virtualization of Event Sources in Wireless Sensor Networks
I’m thrilled to announce that my very first paper has been published in Sensors! 🎉 This one is really special to me. We’ve explored the virtualization of event sources in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) for the Internet of Things (IoT). Our approach aims to enhance how applications interact with WSNs by providing real-time notifications whenever significant events occur in the monitored environment (Lucas-Martínez et al., 2014). This paper is an extended version of our previous conference paper (Lucas-Martínez et al., 2014).
Key Highlights
- Event-Driven Model: We propose a model where WSNs can notify applications in real-time about important events, improving responsiveness and efficiency.
- Virtualization: Our system virtualizes event sources, making them accessible as internet resources, which aligns with IoT principles.
- Practical Implementation: We tested our model in a real-world deployment, demonstrating its effectiveness in an open neighborhood environment.
