Research and Innovation Engineer – Telematics and Electronic Communications

⏰ Key Details

  • Contract Type: Fixed-term (EU-funded / PRTR D.A. 5ª R.D.L. 32/2021)
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week (Full-time)
  • Gross Annual Salary: €25,000
  • Estimated Start Date: October–November 2025
  • Contract Duration: Until September 30, 2026
  • Application Deadline: October 7, 2025
  • Travel Availability: International

🧠 Main Tasks

  • Contributing to the semantic modelling of trustworthiness and resilience requirements in digital services.
  • Assisting in the design and development of embedded and edge AI solutions across the cloud–fog–edge continuum.
  • Participating in modular AI system design for distributed environments.
  • Supporting the implementation and validation of AI-based decision support systems for mobility and logistics.

🎓 Requirements

  • Degree in Electronic Communications Engineering and/or Telematics Engineering (ICT).
  • Experience in embedded systems, edge AI, and hardware accelerators (e.g. Hailo-8).
  • Knowledge of UAV/UGV systems, ROS2, and autonomous mission control.
  • Familiarity with Docker, microservices, and open-source development tools.
  • Strong background in software engineering, testing, and AI integration for sustainable applications.
  • Languages: Spanish (Advanced), English (Intermediate).
  • Master’s students aiming for a PhD are strongly encouraged to apply.
